Gur Papdi is a Jaggery based sweet Recipe, made with 3 Main Ingredient. Wheat, Jaggery & Wheat flour. It is called Gur Papdi or Gol Papdi in Maharastra. Sukhdi in Gujarat. This sweet is made during winters , to keep the body warm. Wheat flour & jaggery produces heat in body, & keeps the body warm. so this sweet is consumed during winter Seasons & also made during special occasions & festivals.
Gur Papdi
Prep Time : 5Ingredients
Wheat flour - 1 Cup.
Ghee - 1/2 cup.
Jaggery - 3/4 cup.
sesame seeds - 1 tsp. (optional)
Almonds - 8.
Preparation
Grate the jaggery & keep it aside.
Chop the nuts to Garnish.
Method
1. Grease the plate with Ghee & keep it ready.
2. Dry Roast 1 tsp of sesame seeds in a kadai or pan , till it pops & spread it on Greased plate.
3. Now to Pan, add a cup of Wheat flour dry Roast for 2 minutes, in medium low flame.
4. Then add 1/2 cup of Ghee.
5. Fry the wheat flour in Ghee, till it turns Golden Brown & Aromatic. It takes nearly 8 to 10 minutes in Medium low flame.
7. Jaggery will get cooked in the heat of Pan.
8. When Jaggery is melted, immediately Pour the mixture on the Greased plate, else the mixture crumbles. Level the mixture with knife or spatula. Garnish with nuts.
9.. When it is little warm, draw lines of your desired shape & serve.
Notes
- you can Replace whole Wheat atta with Multigrains atta too.
- you can also add Cashews for Garnishing.
