                Varalakshmi vratham, a festival to pacify Lakshmi – wife of lord Vishnu. This is celebrated in maharastra and southern parts of india such as Andhra, tamil nadu and karnataka. This festival is usually performed by married women for prosperity of their family. Lakshmi is goddess of wealth, power, wealth and prosperity.  It is believed that worshiping Goddess Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshiping Ashtalaksmi – the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength. Let us  perform this pooja and seek her blessings.
