Chilli Parotta is a popular street food from streets of Tamil Nadu. It is made with parotta's or even left over Parotta's. Parotta's are chopped into small byte sized pieces, then it is tossed in spicy onion tomato mixture.
Chilli Parotta
Prep Time : 10 min. Ingredients
Parotta - 4.
Onion - 2.
Tomato -2.
Capsicum - 1/2.
Ginger - 1/2 inch.
Garlic - 4.
Green Chillies - 2.
Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp.
Chilli Powder - 1.5 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/8 tsp.
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp.
Salt - As needed.
oil - to toast & fry.
curry leaves - 1 sprig.
coriander leaves - few (for Garnishing).
Preparation
Chop the onions, tomato, Ginger,Garlic. Cube the Capsicum.
Method
1. Toast the Parotta's till Golden, When it cools down, cut into small pieces.
2. Heat the oil, add fennel seeds, when it turns aromatic, add Green chillies.
3. When it turns lightly whitish, add chopped Garlic, Ginger.
4. When Ginger turns Golden, add onions, saute till onions turns transparent. Then add Capsicum.
5. when capsicum is cooked , add tomatoes.
6. Add all spice powders. Chilli Powder,Coriander Powder,turmeric Powder & Salt.
7. Saute till tomatoes turns mushy.
8. Now add 2 tbsp of water. Mix well.
9. After it Gets Masala Paste Consistency, add chopped parotta's.
Notes
1.you can even cube onions.
2.you can Garnish with Spring onions also.
3. you can add a tbsp of chilli sauce for extra spiciness.
