Pesarapappu Jantikalu - Pasiparuppu Murukku - Moongdal Murukku

Pasi Paruppu  Murukku is an Easy Murukku Recipe, made with Rice flour & Moong dal. This crispy,crunchy murukku with nice aromatic flavour of moongdal,makes the murukku delicious.This is a Popular Andhra Snack Recipe. My husband is a big fan of this  snack.  He always have this Murukku with tomato Pickle.

Ingredients

Rice flour - 1 + 1/2 cup.
Moongdal - 1/2 cup.
cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp.
Hing - 1/4 tsp.
Hot oil -  3 tbsp.
salt - needed.
oil - To deep fry.

Method
  • Dry Roast the Moongdal, till you get nice aroma, then grind it into a fine powder. Then sieve it.


  • Take a Mixing bowl, add Rice flour, Ground Moongdal, cumin seeds, hing, hot oil & salt.Mix well.
  • Then add water little by little, to make a soft smooth pliable dough.


  • Take a Murukku maker with three holes plate,put the dough into it. squeeze it in a circle shape   to from murukku, over a plastic sheet or zip lock  cover as shown in the picture.
  • Heat the oil in a Kadai, to check oil is hot,put small piece  of dough in a hot oil, when it pops up immediately,it is the  indication that oil is hot.
  • Now drop the  squeezed murukkus in  hot oil.Cook in medium flame.
  • Cook both sides until the Shh!!! sound & bubbles  ceases & also it turns light Golden brown.


  • Then Remove it, and  drain it in the  kitchen towel.

Notes
  • Instead of Cumin seeds you can add ajwain also.
  • Always dry Roast the Moong dal to get Good taste.
  • If you are making in large Quantity, make the dough in smaller portions then and there, else if you make for larger portion, jantikalu will turn reddish while frying.
  • if you want the murukku to be spicy, can also add 1 tsp of Red chilli Powder to the Jantikalu Mixture.
