Mohanthal is a Popular & traditional Gujarathi sweet Recipe. Mohanthal is a Rich Besan Burfi loaded with nuts of your choice.Traditionally it is made with khoya or milk.but to make it quicker i have used Condensed Milk.Roasted besan flour when mixed with condensed milk,& topped with nuts tastes yummilicious.
Ingredients
Besan flour - 1.5 cups.
Condensed Milk - 1/2 cup.
Ghee - 1/2 cup.
Almonds - 6.
Pistachios - 8.
Water - 1 tbsp.

Method
- Mix a tbsp of water with besan flour to crumble it.
- Add 1/2 cup of Ghee.
- Saute the besan flour with Ghee in a Medium low flame till it turns Golden brown colour & also you get nice smell of besan flour.Make sure not to burn.(it takes nearly 10 minutes to roast the besan flour).
- Add Condensed Milk, Mix well.Make sure it should not have any lumps in it.
- When you add condensed milk, it starts thickening & leaves the sides of the pan & come as a whole Mass.
- Grease a plate with Ghee.Now Pour the besan Mixture over the plate & spread it.Now decorate it with chopped Almonds & Pistachios.
- Cut into desired shape when it completely cools down.Serve or store it in a air tight Container.
Notes
- you can add Generous Pinch of Cardomom Powder, while adding Ghee.
- you can soak saffron strads in hot water for 30 minutes, then you can add that milk while adding condensed Milk.
- While sauteing besan with Ghee break the lumps.
