Ingredients
button mushroom - 200 gms.
Green chillies - 1 (slit into 2)
cinnamon stick - 1.
cloves - 2.
onion big - 1.
salt - for taste.
oil - to fry.
fennel seeds -10 - 15 seeds.
To saute and grind
tomato - 1.
pearl onion - 15.
ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp.
coconut - 1/4 cup.
chilli powder - 1 tsp.
coriander powder - 2 tsp.
garam masala - 1/2 tsp.
Heat the oil in a kadai, add pearl onions, ginger garlic paste saute till onions turns pink.Then add tomato saute till it turns mushy.Now switch off the stove in that heat add chilli powder,garam masala powder,coriander powder and grated coconut mix well.Allow it to cool. Now grind everything with needed water into a fine paste. keep it aside.
Preparation
Gently wash the mushrooms under running water and pat it dry.
chop the mushrooms into bigger pieces.
Method
Heat the oil in a kadai, add green chillies when it turns pale colour, throw cinnamon,cloves,fennel seeds. fry for 10- 15 seconds till it gives nice aroma(smell).
Add chopped onions,saute till it turns pink.Now add mushrooms saute for 2 minutes until the water oozes.Now add ground paste with needed water.Add salt to it.stir well.
Allow it to boil for 10 to 15 minutes till the raw smell goes and it becomes a thick gravy.
Garnish with fresh cilantro.It goes very well with all Indian breads rice and pulov varieties.
