Puli adai is is prepared with idli Rice and tanginess is acheived by using tamarind. it is an authentic vysyas Recipe. As soon as u prepare the batter, we can start preparing adai.
Ingredients
idli Rice - 1+1/2 cup.
idli Rice - 1+1/2 cup.
Cooked Rice/Left over Rice - 3/4 cup.
Tamarind -Goosebery size.
salt - needed.
Red chillies -7
Curry leaves - 1 sprig.
Hing - 1/8 tsp.
Jaggery - 1 tsp.
To Temper

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
oil - To fry.
Preparation
Soak the idli rice for 4 to 5 hrs or overnight.
Method
- To the Soaked idli Rice add all other ingredient and grind it into a coarse batter.
- The consistency should be little watery than normal dosa, as shown in the picture.
- Heat the oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters add it to the batter.
- Heat the skillet or tawa and start preparing the adai.
- Pour the ladle of batter on the tawa and just spread it over the tawa.
- Then drizzle some oil. When it cooked on one side flip the adai , when it is cooked on both the sides,remove from the tava and serve hot.
